Winter Experiences at Hulbert House
This winter, Hulbert House invites guests to experience Queenstown at a slower, more atmospheric pace through a series of seasonal weekends designed to celebrate the landscape, culture and spirit of the region.
The season begins in May with the Autumn Colours and Photography Weekend, when the hills around Queenstown and Arrowtown turn shades of gold and crimson. Guests who stay two nights will enjoy an included 30 minute professional photoshoot set among the autumn colours, creating a memorable way to capture the beauty of the season.
In June, Hulbert House marks Matariki, the Māori New Year, with an evening of reflection and stargazing. Guests are invited to gather for a fireside conversation and look to the night sky to learn about the stars that signal the beginning of the new year, while enjoying wine and canapés overlooking Lake Wakatipu.
July celebrates the height of the ski season with the Ski and Après Experience. Guests staying two nights receive one complimentary shuttle transfer to the mountain of their choice, making it easy to enjoy the slopes of Coronet Peak or The Remarkables before returning to Hulbert House for relaxed evenings by the fire.
Later in the season, the house joins the festivities of Winter Pride, when Queenstown comes alive with celebration and colour. Guests booking two nights will find a special Pride gift waiting in their room, offering a warm welcome to one of the most vibrant events on the winter calendar.
With only eight rooms, Hulbert House offers an intimate and personal way to experience Queenstown in winter. Each weekend combines the energy of the town with the calm and comfort of the historic house, where guests return each evening to wine, canapés and views across the lake and mountains.
