Laura Watkin

Assistant Manager

Laura brings a breadth and depth of experience from working in hospitality all around the world, including in the UK, USA, Spain, Australia and NZ, and with experience in all hotel departments (she hasn’t been a chef… yet), ranging from a 1000-bedroom hotel in Universal Studios, Florida to a wilderness lodge in Fiordland accessible only by helicopter.

Originally from the UK, Laura has lived in Queenstown intermittently for the past 20 years. After managing restaurants, bars and cafes for many years, Laura discovered that hosting in boutique accommodation and providing excellent, personalised service to guests was where she thrived. Laura was the assistant manager for Hulbert House when it first opened, and it is our pleasure to welcome Laura back after having her 2 adorable children.

In her spare time, Laura enjoys what Queenstown has to offer, including snowboarding, overnight hiking in the wilderness, paddle-boarding on the Wakatipu and quality family time.
